I don’t even know where to start. These donuts are the best! (according to Gabe!) This is the best way to get into the fall season. The donut is moist and has the right amount of pumpkin flavor and spices. The glaze is sweet and has lots of cinnamon and maple flavor! This easy and delicious recipe is from livewellbakeoften.com. Let’s get baking!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • cardamom (optional)

INGREDIENTS FOR THE GLAZE:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, milk, egg, butter, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Pipe or spoon the batter evenly between all the donut cavities. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean.
  6. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

DIRECTIONS FOR THE GLAZE:

  1. While the donuts are cooling, mix together the powdered sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup, and milk until well combined. If the glaze is a little too thick, add a splash of milk to thin it out.
  2. Dip the tops of each cooled donut into the glaze and transfer back to the wire rack to let the glaze harden for about 10 to 15 minutes. Enjoy!

TIPS:

  • The donuts can stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • I used a mini donut pan that makes 12 donuts but you can use a regular pan that makes 6 large donuts.
