Easy DIY Sprinkles

I really enjoyed making these sprinkles! They were super cheap, cute, and easy, (with only 3 ingredients) and they taste way better than store bought sprinkles because usually the store bought ones are too hard and too sweet. Now you color them any shade or color you want. And if you’re looking for an easy project to do, this is a perfect  recipe for you. Let’s get baking!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4-6 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract (or lemon, peppermint, or orange. Any flavoring you like)
  • food coloring (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a medium sized bowl, add the powdered sugar, milk (1 tablespoon at a time) and lastly the flavoring.
  2. Mix really well and make sure there are no lumps.
  3. If you want to add color then add in the food coloring. You can separate the mixture in bowls and add in the color. I dyed mine yellow, pink, orange and left a little white.
  4. Fill piping bags (or ziplock bags) and pipe out lines on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. remember, the lines don’t have the be perfectly straight since they will just be broken  into little pieces.
  5. Let the sprinkles dry for 8 hours or overnight. I piped mine a little thicker so it took a little longer to dry, so keep that in mind. Once they are dry, tear them into little pieces. You could also chop them up with a knife. Whatever method works for you. Now you have DIY sprinkles that were super easy and didn’t cost anything!

Thanks for baking with me!
