If you are like me and absolutely love donuts than this recipe from thefirstyearblog.com will be become a favorite. Baked donuts are so easy and so moist. Let’s get baking!

DIRECTIONS:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

INGREDIENTS FOR GLAZE:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 small pinch salt
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons milk
  • Optional: food coloring and sprinkles

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a  donut pan and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix flour, nutmeg, sugar, baking powder and salt, mix until combined. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, with a whisk, combine the milk, egg, vanilla extract and vegetable oil. Add in the flour mixture a little at a time, mixing  just until combined.
  4. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe the batter into the donut wells.
  5. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a donut comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely on a cooling rack.

TO MAKE THE GLAZE:

  1. Whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract and salt.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of milk, and whisk to combine. If the glaze is too thick, add additional milk, 1/2 teaspoon at a time until the desired consistency.
  3. Add food coloring if you want.  I colored it pink.

FOR ASSEMBLY:

  1. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and add sprinkles if desired. Enjoy!

Thanks for baking with me!
