Cookie dough is definitely my favorite. Regular cookie dough can make you sick but with this delicious recipe you can eat the dough by the spoonful! It is super easy to make and you can play around with flavors to make it your own. Today I’ve made two different types of edible cookie dough. Let’s get baking!
CLASSIC CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons butter (very softened )
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS:
- First, in a heat safe bowl, put the flour in the microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds to get all the harmful bacteria out that can make you sick. Stir it up. Add the baking soda and salt to the flour and give that a whisk. Set aside.
- In another bowl, with a spatula mix the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and milk. The texture should be super smooth.
- Now sift the flour mixture into the butter and sugar mixture. Mix until smooth and without lumps. If you don’t sift the flour, you will have lots of lumps. I found that when the flour is heated in the microwave it lumps together, so make sure to sift it thoroughly.
- Once it’s smooth, add in the chocolate chips. But make sure not to overmix. Your cookie dough is finished. If you want you can try my galaxy sugar cookie recipe variation below!
GALAXY SUGAR COOKIE DOUGH INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 tablespoons white sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 4 tablespoons butter (very softened)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Galaxy sprinkles
DIRECTIONS:
- First, in a heat safe bowl, microwave your flour like the chocolate chip cookie dough recipe. Add in your baking soda and salt. Give that a mix. Set that aside.
- In another bowl add in your butter, and white sugar, vanilla and milk.
- To your butter mixture sift in the flour mixture. Mix until smooth and without any lumps.
- Divide the dough into three bowls and dye it pink, purple, and blue (or whatever colors you prefer). But save a little bit of uncolored dough. Carefully swirl the colors into the uncolored dough. Don’t overmix it or you will end up with a grayish color. Add your galaxy sprinkles to the top.
TIP: The cookie dough tastes even better when it is refrigerated for at least 30 minutes to an hour.
Thanks for baking with me!
