I decided to spoil my dog for her birthday with this dog safe cake. This tiny cake is so easy to whip up.Daisy, my dog absolutely loved this cake. This great recipe is from lovefromtheoven.com. Let’s get baking!

INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg

INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTING:

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 6 in pan and line with parchment.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, combine together vegetable oil, peanut butter, applesauce and pumpkin puree.
  4. Once combined, mix in egg and mix until combined.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients and stir until combined. The batter will be thick but don’t worry it will still work. Pour into pan.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool.

DIRECTIONS FOR FROSTING:

  1. Mix Greek yogurt and peanut butter until well combined. I multilpied the frosting recipe to cover the entire cake.
  2. One batch of frosting doesn’t make that much so keep that in mind.  Spread over and around cake. Fill a piping bag fitted with a number If not serving immediately, store in refrigerator. Enjoy!

Thanks for baking with me!
