Rice Crispy Treats

These are so easy and delicious! You can never go wrong with this classic treat. The reason I love these because it reminds me of my childhood. I used to make these all the time! Recipe is from sally’sbakingaddiction.com. Let’s get baking!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • two 10 ounce bags mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • cups crispy rice cereal

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lightly grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter over medium heat in a very large pot. Once melted, add the marshmallows. Stir the mixture until the marshmallows are completely melted.
  3. Remove from heat, then immediately stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Finally, fold in the cereal. Make sure each piece of cereal is coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Transfer mixture to the  prepared pan. Spread mixture to fit the pan. 
  6. Allow to set for at least 1 hour at room temperature and covered or up to 1 day. Cut into squares and enjoy!
